Qualcomm's Snapdragon Processor Powers First Nokia Lumia Smartphones

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S2 class of mobile processors will power the first Nokia Lumia smartphones, the Nokia Lumia 800 and the Nokia Lumia 710. This commences two important industry collaborations – Nokia’s entrance into the Windows Phone ecosystem as well as Qualcomm and Nokia’s long-awaited mobile partnership. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors continue to power 100 percent of Windows Phone devices.

“We are pleased to see the result of two strong teams coming together to bring to market smartphones based on the Snapdragon processors, in only six months,” said Enrico Salvatori, senior vice president and president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies Europe. “The completeness of the Snapdragon processor and deep integration between Snapdragon and Windows Phone 7 have enabled a unique smartphone experience in record development time for Nokia.”
